SurgiLight,
Inc. (SRGL.OB) has just received an allowance notice
for its U.S. Patent entitled “Apparatus and Methods
for the Treatment of Presbyopia Using Fiber-Coupled Lasers.”
This method patent discussed a means for correcting Presbyopia
by removing a portion of the sclera to a specific depth with
a focused beam delivered by a fiber. The patent cites both
infrared and ultraviolet laser wavelengths.
With the
issuance of this patent, SurgiLight now owns four U.S. patents
on Presbyopia and has 15 pending applications worldwide. In
addition, SurgiLight owns 4 patents and 9 patent applications
and holds an exclusive license on another 10 patents or patent
applications. These patents cover the laser device, delivery
system and certain methods and were acquired from Premier
Laser Systems.
