Rocketinfo
Inc. is a leading provider of Internet-based search, competitive and
business intelligence solutions that have enabled event and information
driven enterprises to become more profitable. The company was formed
as a result of the acquisition of Rocket Technologies Inc. by Zeppelin
Energy Inc. in August 2004.
At
the core of all Rocketinfo offerings is a robust, proprietary search
engine that allows it to provide a range of business information products
and services to the enterprise, government and consumer markets, in
a manner that is more efficient and cost effective than others in these
respective industries. The company has embraced the emerging convergence
in these markets with new standards in Web Services, XML and RSS. Its
new product, the Rocketinfo Enterprise Message Broker (Rocketinfo EMB)
has been developed to take advantage of these new market opportunities.
The product has provided Rocketinfo customers with the ability to bridge
access to disparate internal and external data sources and enable a
truly event-driven organization, increase returns on current technology
investments and deliver significant competitive advantage.
The
Rocketinfo management team has extensive experience developing, marketing
and selling sophisticated search-based software solutions to large enterprise
and government clients. Extensive contracts with the Canadian Government
have been extremely successful. Rocketinfo technology provides a comprehensive
system for the collection and storage of business information, keyword
and concept search flexibility, intelligent analytical tools, multi-channel
delivery, and autonomous processing.
The
Rocketinfo comprehensive content collection system searches over 11,000
high quality, publicly accessible business information sources on an
on-going basis. It offers the flexibility to include user-specified
subscription content, email newsletters, chat boards and newsgroups
from both internal and Internet sources. The high-performance content
storage system uses advanced, proprietary indexing and compression technology
to allow the content to be searched quickly without relying on expensive
computing resources. Advanced tools for the creation of keyword and
concept search expressions provide knowledge workers with the ability
to quickly and intuitively build search topics of unlimited size and
scope without impacting performance.
The
proprietary Intelligent analytical tools improve the search and analysis
process utilizing a "Knowledge Builder" module that helps
users define the terms and scope of their search. A ‘relevancy
engine’ ensures that only truly relevant content is presented
for further refinement and analysis. And a specialized ‘learning
engine’ allows users to provide feedback to a neural network that
increases the granularity and relevance of the results.
Rocketinfo's
multi-channel delivery system supports web publishing, e-mail newsletters
to both connected and wireless devices, and XML data feeds that can
be integrated with other applications. Furthermore, the company’s
autonomous processing technology allows relevant information to be collected,
analyzed and delivered, without the need for direct user intervention.
Rocketinfo
Inc. is uniquely positioned to participate in two of the highest growth
technology market trends: Internet Search and Business Intelligence.
Within
these markets, the company is focused on three core enterprise market
opportunities and have products designed specifically to take advantage
of each respective market opportunity: Competitive Intelligence, Business
Intelligence and Web Services.
Competitive
Intelligence: The majority of enterprise competitive intelligence research
involves searching the Internet for breaking news and business information
on competitors. In any enterprise, as the number and diversity of information
sources and competitors continue to grow, there is a requirement to
automate the collection, analysis and delivery of competitive information
across the organization. Rocketinfo has been delivering competitive
intelligence solutions for 5 years into large enterprise and government
environments with an 80% close rate. It is a proven market opportunity
and an enterprise business that will continue to grow.
Business
Intelligence: Traditional business intelligence (BI) software systems
are proprietary, expensive and unable to easily exchange data with other
internal or external software systems. Legacy BI systems are not effective
in delivering critical information as soon as a change in information
occurs as the systems were not designed with the real time demands of
today’s Internet based enterprises. A massive market opportunity
exists as a result of legacy BI systems design and untimely information
delivery.
Every
enterprise that has made an investment in business intelligence software
systems requires enterprise message brokering (EMB) software to facilitate
the transition to real-time event-driven information systems. This market
opportunity is being pursued with the Rocketinfo EMB. This solution
enables an enterprise leverage existing BI investments by using the
Rocketinfo EMB to facilitate real time data exchanges between enterprise
systems, browsers, desktop applications and mobile devices. Rocketinfo
EMB is not meant to displace existing BI systems, it is meant to let
the enterprise build on BI systems already in place in order to deliver
real time information from internal and external data sources.
Web
Services: Rocketinfo was an early adopter of web services, offering
its enterprise web services customer’s access Rocketinfo business
information through an application-to-application interface, typically
based on XML. Outsell, a research firm specializing in the Information
Content industry, recently noted that "the emergence of powerful
intelligent agents and service-oriented architectures based on Web Services
will ultimately enable fully automated "brokered" access to
content that is delivered directly into a user's work flow process.
Vendors that leverage these standards-based technologies will have a
distinct advantage over those that don't." Rocketinfo enjoys this
advantage and the company is profitably employing web services to deliver
business information to a range of enterprise clients.
Rocketinfo
generates revenue through license fees to access its search technology
and business information database. Typically, customers will access
its solutions through web services or an enterprise server license.
Revenues from licensing are annually renewable.
A variety
of business trends support the Rocketinfo vision. Studies indicate that
searching for information and information retrieval is a critical task
for both knowledge workers and consumers. In a recent study IDC found
the average return on investment in business intelligence was 431 per
cent. In fact, the ability to access data faster is the No. 1 productivity
gain business intelligence offers.
Rocketinfo’s
competitive advantage lies in its award winning technology. The company
has successfully licensed its technology to organizations that use it
internally for competitive intelligence and business intelligence as
well as a communication tool for partners, clients and end users. The
Rocketinfo solutions use a modular design approach enabling organizations
to license the technology based on the functionality and deployment
required. |
